With only 5 ingredients in this fruit frappe recipe, you’ll be enjoying this delicious and refreshing frappe in no time!
Try to use organic fruits whenever possible, especially strawberries. Strawberries are on the “dirty dozen” list. Which means pesticides were found on them when tested. You can find the “dirty dozen” list and the “clean fifteen list” provided by the Environmental Working Group, by clicking here: https://www.ewg.org/foodnews/dirty-dozen.php
The key to creating a delicious and flavorful fruit frappe is to use frozen fruit and coconut water instead of unfrozen fruit, ice, and water.
In this recipe I used organic frozen fruit. The awesome thing about frozen fruit is that the fruit is at it’s peak of ripeness when it was frozen, which makes your frappe sweet without having to add sugar/sweetener. Also, another benefit of using frozen fruit instead of fresh fruit is that you won’t need to add ice!
Plain water and ice dilute the sweetness and your frappe won’t be as flavorful. That’s why I highly recommend using organic coconut water and frozen fruit. The coconut water adds flavor.
Start with a low setting when blending the coconut water and frozen fruit, help the blender mix these rock-hard fruits by using a tamper or a wooden spoon to swirl chunks around. Once the mixture is somewhat smooth, you can increase the setting to medium, add coconut water when necessary, continue mixing and increasing power until the consistency is thick but not chunky.
This is a healthy treat for kids too. Enjoy your Summer Sunshine in a Glass!
