sugar or favorite sweetener

dried hibiscus flowers
ice cubes
lemon or lime for garnish
mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
Rinse the hibiscus flowers under running water just to remove dust from flowers. Stop rinsing when water starts to turn red.
Add water to pot and boil in high heat.
Add sugar or favorite sweetener to water, mix with a wooden spoon. Lower heat to medium/high.
Add the hibiscus flowers to the pot and let it simmer for approximately 5 minutes.
Remove pot from heat, let the hibiscus flowers steep until water cools completely (about 30 - 45 minutes).
Drain the cooled mixture in to a pitcher.
Taste the tea and add more sugar/sweetener if needed.
Add ice to glasses and pour the hibiscus tea over ice.
Garnish glasses with: slices of lemons or limes, and mint leaves.
